Chana Leah Bleznick, a 25-year-old mom of a toddler living in Crown Heights, remembers the conversation she had with her friend that inspired her to start a business.
“One night, I was talking to a friend, and telling her how I love living in Crown Heights, but I was so tired of having to drive to Monsey or Boro Park to buy high quality and tznius pre-tied tichels,” Bleznick told COLlive. “While there were some options here in the neighborhood, the quality just didn’t compare to the out of town styles I would drive so far to buy,” she says.
“My friend agreed and said that she has the same struggle. And so, the idea for ‘Tichel My Fancy’ was born,” she says.
Bleznick, who grew up in Arizona, became frum in college and attended Machon L’Yahadus in Crown Heights for two years.
As a busy wife and mom who works for the NY City Mayor’s office as a legal advocate for adults with disabilities, Bleznick still found the time to design and create her own line of high quality pre-tied tichels, in many styles, colors and patterns.
She has recently opened her shop for business, where she carries 28 different styles, colors and patterns of tichels in the collection, all $27.
The feedback from customers has been amazing, Bleznick says. “They can not believe how thick, high quality, well made and tznius they are. All day, even when chasing kids, the tichels stay on perfectly,” she says.
“If you are looking for a relaxed and no-pressure shopping experience, make a private appointment with me to shop,” Bleznick says. “I am proud to offer the ‘out of town’ quality with the ‘right around the corner’ location and service.”

Thank you to collive for posting this article.
I am sensitive to pressure. Wigs are a challenge for me.
And even the pressure of the tied scarf at the back of my head is uncomfortable.
I look forward to trying one of these Made In Crown Heights products 🙂
Great
