On Chai Elul, birthday of the Shnei Me’oros Gedolim, an inspiring force of Torah was unleashed with the launch of Mivtza Torah 5786 in the YTTL Queens central zal. The yeshiva bochurim at the event were joined by Roshei Yeshiva, mashpi’im, and the Chavrei Va’ad Ha’Poel who attended and Shared words of Chizuk.
The event began with Rabbi Menachem M. Yusewitz, setting the tone with uplifting words of hisorerus, the importance of learning with hasmada and the great zechus of a bochur who “Owns Torah..” and the geshmak to utilize this special mivtza. His heartwarming passionate words awakened a tremendous ratzon to be matzliach and complete the Masechta.
Menahel Klali of the mosdos Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hendel shared with the olam his feelings about the Gadlus of last year’s accomplishments and the journey together to Eretz Hakodesh. He explained how deeply impressed he was by the remarkable results and the aliyah ruchniyus that occurred in the bochurim, to the extent that he decided to invest in this year’s gedoleh mivtza despite the substantial sum involved. “Everything is worth it so that the Rebbe should smile,” he said with noticeable hisragshus.
One of the high points of the event was the address of the Magid Shiur Nigle Rabbi Shneur Zalman Margi, who detailed the special yichudiyus of learning Masechta Bava Kamma this year. He emphasized the profound omek contained in this masechta and the nifla opportunity to acquire deep bekius in it.
Rabbi Margi was especially moved when speaking about the planned masa to France this year – the place where he was born and raised. “I know well the mekomos where Rabboseinu Nesi’einu stayed,” he said with hisragshus, “and this will be a masa ruchniyus that is miyuchad b’mino and will leave a roshem in the bochurim’s levavos for kol hachayim.”
The pinnacle of the event was as the Menahel of Yeshiva Rabbi Yosef HaCohen Hendel, presented the brochure with a comprehensive and clear explaining this year’s mivtza structure. He detailed b’diyuk the two main tracks, the minimum and maximum requirements, and the derech by which bochurim could be zocheh to full or partial funding for the special trip to France.
The event concluded with an atmosphere of hisla’havus as the bochurim left the zal with a clear matara: to be matzliach in growing with this year’s Mivtza Torah, having a huge boost B’ruchniyus and to be zocheh to bring the Rebbe Nachas at the ultimate Hisgalus and if its Rch”l delayed, for a wonderful trip following the Rebbes footsteps in France.
The mivtza includes opportunities of learning Gemora and Tanya b’al peh, special certificates from chashuve rabbonim, and a special item from the hand of the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach.
The hanhala emphasized that this mivtza represents not just learning goals, but a true avodas hakodesh that brings tremendous nachas ruach to the Rebbe. The bochurim understand that their hasmada and hatzlacha in the campaign is a way to be m’sameiach the Rebbe and to bring closer the hisgalus of Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
