After weeks of preparation, the entire Shiur Beis class of New Haven Mesivta in Connecticut traveled to the Rebbe in New York to start off Shnas Hakhel.
They were going to spend an uplifting Shabbos in 770 Eastern Parkway with davening, meals and farbrengens.
An exciting part of the trip happened before they even arrived in Crown Heights.
The train’s conductor was walking through the seats and bochurim learned that he was Jewish.
Hearing that he never put on Tefillin, they offered to make him a Bar Mitzvah then and there. He agreed and the celebration included joyous singing and dancing.
