73 Mitzvah Tanks, each one a symbol of the Rebbe’s army, headed out on Thursday for the Mitzvah Tank Parade celebrating the Rebbe’s birthday and sharing the message of the Pesach holiday with all.
The Mitzvah Tank Parade, led by Rabbis Mordy Hirsch and Moishy Schmukler, Directors of the Mitzvah Tank Office, and Shmuli Shuchat, Parade Director, was truly a special event this Hakhel year, with the Rebbe’s army of Mitzvah Tanks bringing the message of Pesach and Moshiach to the streets of New York City.
COLlive.com exclusively live broadcasted the parade, with special guests Mendy Pellin and Shloime Zionce joining in to document the experience.
The parade featured 73 Mitzvah Tanks, each one a symbol of the Rebbe’s army, distributing matzah and encouraging people to lay tefillin, bringing the mitzvah of connection with Hashem to everyone they encounter.
As the Mitzvah Tanks traveled through the city, they were greeted with excitement and joy by the people of New York. Hundreds of people donned tefillin, and many others participated in Mivtzoim, spreading the message of Torah and Moshiach to their fellow Jews.
The Mitzvah Tank Organization thanked Devorah Halberstam – honorary NYPD commissioner and community activist, for her assistance with coordinating the parade which required much logistical planning.
They also thanked the NYPD Highway Patrol and the 71st Pct. under the leadership of Commanding Officer Inspector Joseph Hayward, as well as Captain Maggie Clamp, Sergeant Mike Baratta and Police officer Jonathan Connors, Chief Charles McEvoy of Brooklyn South and Lt. Ira Jablonski for their assistance in making the parade possible.
The Mitzvah Tank Office thanks everyone who supports the parade and helps make it a success.
