Mitchel J. Schapira, a Jewish attorney in Alaska who moved in the last decade to the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, passed away on Wednesday, 7 Shevat 5781.
He was 70.
Born in New York, he went to the Stuyvesant High School and studied political science at Binghamton University. He graduated UCLA Law School, class of 1975.
Schapira practiced law in Alaska and moved to Crown Heights about 8 years ago, becoming a regular at the Besht Shul on Empire Blvd.
The levaya will take place on Thursday 1:00 PM at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, passing by 770 Eastern Parkway at 1:45 PM, proceeding to burial at the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.
He is survived by his children Elise, Issac and Chava, as well as a sister.
