“Historic Treasures” is presented by Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro, Director of the Nissan Mindel Publications (NMP), exclusively for COLlive.com.
Each program shares ‘treasures’ from the archives of Rabbi Schapiro’s father in law, Rabbi Dr. Nissan Mindel OBM, a prolific writer who served as a personal secretary of the 6th and 7th Chabad Rebbes.
The program uncovers fascinating stories, rare artifacts and precious documents from the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
In the weeks preparing for Hei Teves, Rabbi Shalom Ber Schapiro will share new information, never before revealed about the mission to redeem the Schneerson Library from Russia.
This information will shed new light on the failed mission – where three emissaries were sent by the Rebbe on January 10, 1988 (Shevat, 5748), to Russia, to redeem the Rebbe’s seforim which were held captive by the Russian regime for all the years, and sadly, are still in captivity.
Rabbi Schapiro will share information straight from the source:
• Rabbi Mindel’s du’ch (report) to the Rebbe
• His private audience with the Rebbe (yechidus) straight upon his return from Russia, reporting on the mission
• His communication about the mission with Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka
• His detailed notes about the mission
“Unfortunately, much is being said and written about this painful parsha – and it is not always accurate,” Rabbi Schapiro says. “We hope that this program will clarify matters to some degree and help cut through much of the noise.”
