Missing bochur Shmuel Rabinowitz was reunited with his family Thursday afternoon, after spending nearly 24 hours in the woods.
Rabinowitz accidentally became separated from a group of campers while hiking on a trail in Killington, Vermont on Wednesday night.
According to Hatzoloh Montreal, when he realized he was lost, Rabinowitz stayed put until morning, when he began searching for a trail. When he found one, he waited there until another hiker passed by and he asked for help.
He was able to contact his parents using the passerby hiker’s cell phone.

I have 20+ years of experience in hiking.
It appears that Shmuel was trained very well, as he did exactly the right things in that type of situation. Kudos to Michoel Nagal and his team for the training.
Thank G’D almighty that it all worked out, staying put until morning, and waityat the trail for the help of a passerby, one thing is still bothering me, why did the have a cellphone on him in the first place.
