The United Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Crown Heights marked on Sunday, 12 Kislev, the first yahrzeit of Rabbi Hershel Kotlarsky OBM.
For over 50 years, Rabbi Kotlarsky was involved in Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch. His devotion, care, and concern for the Yeshiva, its students, and finances was unparalleled.
In preparation for the yahrzeit, students studied Mishnayos by heart in his memory, and accumulated tickets for their efforts.
A Raffle was held, and one boy from each grade one a set of Mishnayos.
Joining the celebration was Kotlarsky’s sons rabbis Moshe and Mendel, and grandson-in-law Zev Nelkin who sponsored the Mishnayos project.
The principal Rabbi Yosef Simpson addressed the students and spoke about Rabbi Kotlatsky’s work since 1934.
After the raffle, $2 bills were handed out to all of the students who participated in the learning.
