Miriam’s Motherhood Center, set to open in Crown Heights next week, offers educational, social, and recreational opportunities for women and young children. The Center is a project of Mothers of Crown Heights and was designed to host programs simultaneously throughout the day and evening.
The Lounge
The feminine, cozy lounge is the perfect ‘living room’ for smaller meetups and conversations.
Ongoing support groups, parenting workshops, ‘Ask the Expert’ series, childbirth classes, shiurim and knitting classes are just to name a few.
The Office
For those entrepreneurs, freelancers, students, or busy ladies that need to get some work done, the shared workspace is open to women ages eighteen and older. The coworking space is by reservation only and has babysitting available during designated hours upon request.
The Office at the Motherhood Center is offered in collaboration with Rabbi Werde and CHYE.
After office hours, the comfortable office space will be used as a classroom for classes, lectures, and programs.
The Playroom
The 750 square foot playroom is bright, beautiful and provides the space and toys that many don’t have in their small apartments. The community playroom will have daily open play slots during the morning and afternoon. Mothers and their babies/toddlers (age four and under) are invited to come during those designated hours.
The Studio
The Studio is designated for fitness and movement classes with an emphasis on pre and postnatal. Game changer alert: For those mothers that normally cannot make it to a class because they have a baby at home, babysitting will be available upon request!
The studio will also host weekly Mommy and Me classes as well as other programming for toddlers.
– –
One of the goals of the Motherhood Center is to create a community center. Existing organizations are invited to showcase their programming, thereby centralizing all women-related classes and programs.
A community center is meant to be accessible to everyone. For those that cannot afford the membership fee, there is a scholarship fund and the option to gift membership.
With these ongoing mother and baby-centered offerings, Miriam’s Motherhood Center will uplift and change the lives of the young mothers that are raising children in Crown Heights. Kahn Tziva Hashem es Habrocha.

Where is it?

Can my daughter or nanny take my child to the programs and the Playroom?
The Motherhood Center is focused on the mothers as much as the children. It is specifically mothers that are welcome to accompany their children. (Or mothers of mothers: Bubbies.)
