This week, after much effort and overcoming many obstacles, a beautiful new men’s Mikvah built in memory of Rabbi Sholom Dov Ber Gutnick OBM, was opened just in time for his Yartzeit on 25 Iyar.
The Mikvah is located in Moshav Gilat in Israel, and was donated by Rabbi Gutnick’s son, philanthropist Rabbi Meyer Gutnick of Crown Heights.
Shliach in the area, Rabbi Lior Abada, who lives in the Moshav, began building the Mikvah a year and a half ago, and after much hard work and many attempts to secure funding, he finally met Rabbi Meyer Gutnick, who donated the remaining funds needed to complete the Mikvah.
The new Mikvah is the first one in the vicinity of all the Yishuvim in the area, and the news of its completion was met with great excitement among the local residents.
