Crown Heights residents performed the Kapparos custom on Motzei Shabbos as is customary on the night before Yom Kippur. Photos
The actual custom as written in seforim is to perform Kaparos, “BeAshmores HaBoker” which isn’t the night before, it is early in the morning on Erev Yom Kippur.
Hence, the Rebbe did Kaparos at approximately 7am.
It is a common misconception, just trying to clarify.
