A grand Siyum Harambam was held at the Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Miami on Thursday night, the 2nd of Cheshvan, which included speakers, a complete seudas mitzvah, and festive singing.
Rabbi Bentche Korf, Menahel Ruchni of the Yeshiva emceed the event. He expounded upon the importance of a Siyum Harambam and the significance of the thirty-sixth cycle.
Rabbi Avrohom Korf, Head Shliach of Florida, shared inspiring words based on a passage in Rambam about strengthening our belief in the coming of Moshiach, as the Rebbe very much encouraged.
Rabbi Leibel Schapiro, Rosh Yeshiva and Rov of Beis Menachem of Miami Beach performed the Siyum and relayed one of the “Hadronim” the Rebbe said in conclusion of the Sefer Harambam. He also stressed upon the great zechus we have in learning the daily shiur of Rambam.
Rabbi Yisroel Frankfurter, head of the Semicha Program in Miami Beach made the Haschala on the new cycle. He underlined the importance of always remembering the beginning words of Sefer HaYad, that the foundation of everything is to keep in mind that there is a מצוי ראשון (first and fundamental being).
Rabbi Chaim Stern, Maggid Shiur in the Yeshiva, discussed the significance of the day being the Yahrtziet of the Holy Ruzhiner.
The siyum was well attended, lively song was sung, and everyone came out with a great feeling of commitment to their study of Rambam.
