In a powerful expression of Jewish strength, a mezuzah was affixed to the entrance of the newly established Bondi Community Hub, created to support those affected by the recent terror attack in Bondi.
The mezuzah was placed by Rabbi Yehoram Ulman, who tragically lost his son-in-law Rabbi Eli Schlanger HYD in the attack, together with NSW Premier Chris Minns. The moment reflected the Chabad approach of responding to darkness with increased light—strengthening Torah, mitzvos, and Jewish life.
Present for the occasion were Rabbi Ulman’s son, Rabbi Mendy Ulman; Rabbi Mendel Kastel of Jewish House; Rabbi Yossi Lazaroff, whose son Leibel is still recovering from injuries sustained in the attack; R’ Nachman Dyksztejn from Zaka; Mayor Will Nemesh, a fellow Yid serving in government; and prominent community member Benny Amzalak.
The Bondi Community Hub has been established as a central address for chizuk and assistance, providing access to practical resources including financial guidance, emotional and mental-health support, and essential services for individuals and families impacted by the tragedy.
In a significant expression of Mivtza Kashrus, the hub will serve only kosher food, ensuring that every Jew can enter with comfort and confidence. This reflects the Rebbe’s emphasis that strengthening a single mitzvah—especially in challenging times—brings added protection and blessing to the entire community.
The message conveyed through the establishment of the hub is clear and unequivocal: the Jewish community stands together. Through achdus, chesed, and renewed commitment to Torah and mitzvos, we move forward with strength and hope.
