On Motzei Shabbos it was the children’s night. There were doughnuts and prizes for every child. The brochos were sang by Rabbi Yoel Niasoff and the event ended with a firework display.
On Sunday night the menorah was lit in S. Peter’s Square in Manchester Town Centre in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Manchester Mrs. Yasmin Dar and other dignitaries.
Rabbi Avrohom Jaffe welcomed everyone and thanked all those who had helped towards the evening, including Yisroel Rothstein, the CST, the Police and Manchester City Council. He led the crowd in tehillim for Eretz Yisroel.
The Lord Mayor brought greetings from Manchester as did Mr Bernard Yaffe, the vice chair of the Manchester Rep Council. Mr Dov Ber Klein led the children in reciting the Torah Pesukim. The evening ended with singing by Michoel Sholom Carrol and lively dancing.
