Thousands came out to celebrate the second night of Chanukah on December 3rd for a magical night at the Grove LA.
Village Synagogue hosted the 2nd annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony together with the Caruso Affiliated Grove.
Council Member David Ryu, 4th District, was in attendance, with representatives from the Mayor’s office and Council Member Paul Koretz’s office, 5th District.
Rabbi Zalmy Fogelman, Director of Village Synagogue, led the lighting with founder of Dry Bar, Alli Webb and real estate developer, Neil Shekhter and welcomed a crowd of thousands to the popular Grove fashion and lifestyle destination.
“From Pittsburgh, to Thousand Oaks, and a time when California needs so much healing, let us shine as Menorahs and illuminate the world,” said Rabbi Fogelman in his remarks. “The Menorah is the symbol of our people’s strength, perseverance and faith in the most trying of times, and empowers us to hold dear our heritage and be proud of our identity.”
This event brought together every spectrum of the Jewish community and acted as a sense of healing and celebration for all.
The energized crowd danced together with a dreidel mascot and Judah Maccabee to DJ Yoav and the Moshav Band, and were treated to Lieder’s latkes, donuts, dreidels and giveaways.
