Machon L’Yahadus will hold a Melave Malka this Motzei Shabbos, open to all women and girls in the community.
The evening will be in honor of Rebbetzin Chana on the occasion of her 52nd yartzeit. Machon L’Yahadus looks to Rebbetzin Chana, mother of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, as the paradigm of Jewish womanhood and educates its students in the spirit of her life.
The event will be one of the first opportunities of the year (in addition to the N’Shei Chabad gathering on Shabbos) for women and girls in the community to continue in the spirit of “Hakhel” as urged by the Rebbe.
The celebration, which gets underway at 9:00 p.m. will feature Mrs. Esther Sternberg, whose stories of personal encounters always inspire and invigorate her audience. Rabbi Shloma Majeski, principal of Machon L’Yahadus will speak, as well as Rabbi Yitzchak Hecht, shaliach Chabad of Ulster County, on behalf of N.C.F.J.E. Miss Risa Mond, of Plano, Texas, a current Machon L’Yahadus student, will speak as well. Mrs. Yehudis Cohen, assistant principal, will chair the event.
“We are happy to share with the community the good news that our school is thriving. Our dorm is almost full to capacity. We have an amazing group of enthusiastic students this year. Our teaching and support staff at Machon L’Yahadus are all passionate about what they teach and are devoted to the students,” notes Rabbi Majeski.
A tent is being set up in the backyard of the school building at 823-825 Eastern Parkway to accommodate all participants. For anyone unable to attend or those living out of town, the event will also be on-line or over the phone. Live stream: bit.ly/VovTishrei5777. Phone in: (712) 775-7031, meeting ID 453-290-672#
The evening is being sponsored by Gold Sponsor Bina Wigs and Silver Sponsors Benz’s, Brands, Everything But the Baby, Kahan’s Superette, Mendy Realty, Raskin’s Fruits, Tzfasman Jewelers.
There will be a raffle for one dollar of the Rebbe and a second dollar of the Rebbe will be auctioned off to raise much needed funds for the school and dorm.
Suggested donation for the Melave Malka is $10. Sponsors and hostesses for the evening are still being sought. You can partner with Machon L’Yahadus in honor of Vov Tishrei, or for any other special occasion.
