In a heartwarming display of community and inspiration, the Melava Malka Club for Hebrew speaking women in Crown Heights hosted its annual Yud Tes Kislev event.
Despite last-minute changes to the venue, the evening unfolded as a powerful reminder of Hashem’s guidance in all matters.
The event, organized meticulously by a dedicated team, served as a celebration of Chassidus and the Rebbe’s teachings. Under the theme “לעשותו – The Main Thing is To Do,” the night focused on inspiring participants to take concrete actions to bring the geulah closer.
The program opened with a video of the Rebbe emphasizing the importance of action, setting the tone for an evening dedicated to personal growth and collective mitzvah observance.
Guest speaker Mrs. Rochel Chitrik captivated the audience with a profound analogy about unity and purpose. She compared each woman to a precious pearl, explaining that while drilling a hole in a pearl may seem to diminish its value, it is only through joining the pearls together that a beautiful necklace is formed. This, she explained, reflects the power of collective mitzvos in creating a world of beauty and holiness.
Mrs. Riki Fishbein of Cedarhurst, renowned for her weekly shiurim spanning over two decades, shared personal stories of miracles and the transformative power of small, consistent actions. Her empowering message urged attendees to act, even in the absence of motivation, reminding them that every small step contributes to the greater goal of bringing Moshiach.
The evening was enriched by uplifting musical performances. Talented singer Racheli Kali, accompanied by pianist Clara Landsman, led the crowd in heartfelt niggunim, including the stirring “4 Bavos” and “Padah Beshalom.”
The program concluded with an engaging bingo game of “Hachlatot Tovot,” expertly led by MC Esty Prus, encouraging attendees to commit to new mitzvos in a fun and interactive way.
As the evening transitioned into a late-night farbrengen led by Racheli Kali, participants lingered to share niggunim and heartfelt words.
The Melava Malka Club, a monthly gathering for young Hebrew-speaking women, has become a cornerstone for those seeking connection and inspiration far from home. Each meeting is thoughtfully designed to uplift participants, featuring workshops, speakers, and themes aligned with the Jewish calendar.
In addition to its regular gatherings, the club hosts three major farbrengens annually: Yud Shvat, Gimmel Tammuz, and Yud Tes Kislev. This year’s Yud Tes Kislev event featured high-end décor by Debby Jerufi, gourmet food, and desserts, all contributing to a truly memorable evening, organized by Etti Allouche, Sara Kozlovsky, Shevi Bitton, Chani Sasonkin, Esty Prus, and Chaya Rivkin.
