Buddy if the jab works and is effective then you’re protected and have got nothing to worry about.
And if you’re still worried about it then maybe you also deep down don’t really trust the vaccine hogwash either.

Some individuals do not have immunity despite being vaccinated and ensuring that everyone is vaccinated protects those who are vulnerable, which includes infants and those with compromised immune systems

Such idiocy

For small babies who can’t get the vaccine yet this is actually really scary. Do you want your newborn to get the measles? Kids are on ecmo machines and their lives are at risk for no reason bc of the measles rn. If you decide to bring back measles by not getting vaccinated, and these kids die (which some have already) then honestly you’re partly responsible for killing children. I’m not talking about someone who has an actual anaphylactic allergy to vaccines, just people who are selfish enough to not look at the bigger picture and not smart enough to… Read more »

Herd immunity

Comments like these completely disregard the percentage of people requiring vax in order to create a society where it isn’t spreading. We lose herd immunity, which makes vax LESS effective. It’s not a comment on the efficacy of the vax itself.

We are going to continue to see a rising trend in diseases that were mostly eradicated in the U.S. because people got so comfortable with herd immunity, that they didn’t realize the vax was actually working.

Did they check all boys and staff?
July 29, 2025 2:12 pm

Did they check the other students and staff? Did anyone run titers tests and made all who don’t have to do MMR?
Honestly all 770 need to be checked for vaccinations.
We have lots of people who can’t do vaccines…

Can you also post in more graphic terms what are the complications and risks to pregnant women. That will help people take it more seriously.

You are thinking of Rubella (“German measles”). The bochur has regular measles.

Definitely when measles was super common when your parents were children, and every child got it, the pregnant moms were super worried. In fact all of our grandmas know pregnant friends who had issues because of it right? That’s why we’ve always heard about it firsthand!

The long term effects can be devastating including hearing loss, blindness, lung damage, and neurological problems. In vulnerable people such as infants or individuals with chronic illness or compromised immune systems, measles an be fatal in 10% of cases.

That’s because when your grandma was pregnant everyone had already had measles as a kid and were therefore immune.

These days almost no one had measles as a kid thanks to the vaccines so if an unvaccinated pregnant woman catches it CH”V that puts her at greater risk of an increased risk of miscarriage, premature labor, and/or a low birthweight baby.

Hoping the bochur has a smooth recovery. These things can get out of hand fast in a yeshiva setting, so let’s all be smart about it.

Hard to believe we’re still dealing with measles in 2025. Hopefully this gets contained quickly and people take the warnings seriously.

Why do people not vaccinate?
July 29, 2025 2:30 pm

Kids run around with chicken pox and now measles.

I can understand when people don’t want the newer Covid vaccine which only supposedly lessens the severity of the symptoms for them but doesn’t protect others, but all these childhood disease vaccines have been around for decades, the Rebbe was ok with them, and they protect people.

It’s really bizarre and backwards.

Mazal Tov!!

Actually not.

Measles attacks the memory immune cells causing immune amnesia and leaving the body MORE susceptible to other diseases, even diseases the person has previously acquired an immunity to, for years after the measles infection.

Smallpox

Would you like some? It will help your immune system right?

I hope you’re not a parent. And if you are and your child or someone you knows gets sick and dies because of your poor decision making, I hope you can sleep well at night knowing you are responsible.

According to science a mask cannot possibly stop a coronavirus unless it’s completely airtight because the virus is that tiny. If oxygen can get through so can the virus. Now how safe is it to suffocate yourself with no oxygen? Ask dr. Flip flop Fauci who can’t make up his mind.

My 84 year old neighbor said measles back then was considered less of a big deal than chicken pox. It’s a viral infection not a disease. Pregnant women usually have immunity and if they don’t it’s on them to take precautions.
Higher risk if your low on vitamin a.
It’s a single strand rna virus like covid.
Zinc in the cells when taken right in the beginning of the infection should prevent viral replication and cause a mild infection with no complications.
Stop the fear mongering.

For most people the measles doesn’t pose a threat. But 400 children died per year before the vaccine and that’s not including other complications such as going deaf etc… so for absolutely no good reason you are ok with 400 children dying from something that was already eliminated when everyone got vaccinated?

First of all, it doesn’t say anywhere in the article whether or not the bochur was vaccinated or unvaccinated. Vaccinated people can also catch the measles. It happened by the last thread of outbreaks in 2019. So everyone is assuming that this bochur wasn’t vaccinated and possibly being חושד בכשרים. Second of all, I never heard of TSA /and customs /border control requiring proof of MMR or other immunizations to enter the country. Most schools and seminaries and yeshivas do require immunization records. Does 770/kevutza not require? What I do want to say is that after the tunnel digging story… Read more »
