Rav Label Groner was a giant figure among Lubavitch leadership. As director of Community Relations for the Rebbe, he was a Chabad persona extraordinaire, warm, friendly, scholarly and a marbitz Torah, chochmoh and chassidus. In the 1970s I worked with the Rebbe’s Chief Secretary Rav Yehuda Krinaky, yebadel lechayim, as public relations writer and had several pleasant encounters with Rav Groner.
