Eric Adams, who is running as a Democratic candidate for Mayor of New York City, visited the gravesite of the Rebbe on Sunday, Gimmel Tammuz.
Adams was one of the many thousands who davened at the Ohel of the Rebbe at the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens on the auspicious day of the yartzeit.
Adams was accompanied by community activists and longtime friends from Crown Heights, NYPD Liaison Devorah Halberstam, Chanina Sperlin of the CHJCC, Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky of Merkos 302 and Yaacov Behrman.
Adams wrote a pan note and said a prayer at the gravesite of the Rebbe. He then visited the gravesite of the Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson as well.
Afterward, Adams, accompanied by Mrs. Halberstam, visited the gravesite of her son Ari Halberstam, who was killed al kiddush Hashem in a terrorist attack and is buried nearby.
Adams has a longtime relationship with the Crown Heights community, having served as New York State Senator in Brooklyn’s 20th District from 2006 to 2013, and more recently as Brooklyn Borough President.
A recent poll, by PIX11/Emerson that was released Wednesday, shows Adams garnered 23 percent of voter support. He was six percentage points ahead of his nearest competitor, Maya Wiley, who shot up to second after a weekend endorsement from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Rounding out the top spots in the latest poll were Andrew Yang (15 percent), Kathryn Garcia (12 percent) and Scott Stringer (nine percent).

Please all vote for Eric Adams!
This Eric adams stands for all the taruvis and liberal insanity – the polar opposite of the rebbe and the Torah. Do NOT vote for this treifah candidate. The community leaders are blinded by what they think they’ll have “protektziya” hashem yishmor – it’s all to reminiscent of n bennett.
This event is not something just because its election season. This gathering is a culmination of the long time relationship Borough President Adams has had with our community from the time he was a NYS Senator. If you are still on the fence about casting your vote for him for Mayor, please keep in mind several things. This man has experience as a NYC police officer and captain. He understands how serious the public safety issue is and knows what works and what doesn’t but is also fair minded. With so many areas of our city needing attention, we need… Read more »
