Earlier this week, the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies embarked on a fundraising campaign with an ambitious goal. While Mayanot has accomplished this feat before, under the shadow of Covid 19 and a global economic crisis, the challenge was clear and present.
As the campaign enters its final hours, the Mayanot offices in Jerusalem, and friends around the globe, are still working the phones in search of support. And, over the last 36 hours, one thing is certain: Mayanot has made an impact around the world.
With over 2000 donors already having contributed, Mayanot has learned that their friends, fans, admirers, and even curious onlookers, have not only been inspired to give back, but to get their circles involved as well. “You can truly see the power these teams have brought to our campaign, said Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov, Executive Director.
Over the years, Mayanot has remained committed to their students, parents of students and supporters. But on a larger scale, Mayanot has always been committed to a strong Jewish future. “Our goal before Covid was to expand our capacity to empower a new generation of young Jewish leaders” said Dean, Rabbi Shlomo Gestetner. “And even through Covid and uncertainty, we remain committed and confident.”
The Mayanot campaign, which will culminate as the sun sets on 2020, aims to ensure that the Jewish future will be as bright and vibrant as it looked before Covid.
Through your commitment to Mayanot, new scholarships will be funded, the Mayanot World Center will be completed and engaging Jewish programing will be developed to ensure that Jewish youth have the know-how to respond to growing threats to Jewish continuity in Israel and around the world.
