Once again, Yeshivat Mayanot in Jerusalem astounds. This week, Mayanot completed the purchase of a new property next to the Yeshiva. Rabbi Shlomo Gestaetner, together with Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov (who arrived from his special Mayanot Expansion Mission in the US) ceremoniously signed the property purchasing documents. The new building will enable Mayanot to increase student enrollment, in a modern up-to-date environment, by adding new classrooms, including a brand new Bet Medrash (study hall).
“These are hard economic times for everone,” said Rabbi Shemtov, “however, we have taken upon ourselves a monumentous task to blaze forward by expanding The “Wellsprings” (Mayanot) – the Waters of Life – (Torah) to hundreds of students, bringing them closer to Judaism through the Wellsprings of Chassidus.”
“Our students at Mayanot can now rest easy,” added Rabbi Gestetner reassuringly, “although no student was ever turned away due to lack of space, space was indeed limited. However, once we complete renovations of the new Mayanot Yeshiva Building, our students will find themselves in newly upgraded and modern accommodations, making it even more pleasant to pursue their Torah studies.”
In the name of all the past, present and future students of Mayanot, the Mayanot Faculty would like to thank Mr. Yekutiel (George) Rohr for his philanthropic generosity and assistance in making the purchase of the new building for the Yeshiva a reality. With heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation, the faculty would like to thank our close friend and mentor Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, whose guidance and dedication to all Shluchim near and far, helped assure the success of this project. Special thanks to Mr. Yaakov Cohen of Baltimore, MD for his sincere dedication to growth and success of Mayanot.
Not a better investment in the world!
It should be a good START.
Mayanot certainly deserves expansion. The Talented, Dedicated and G-d fearing teachers in Mayanot, provide the students with every level of Torah to students of any level. In a warm, happy, encouraging environment. (…as well as personal attention, support and encouragement in any other areas) Whether in Shiur, Chavrusa, the dining-room or farbrengens. There are months when they are packed to capacity, with the students overflowing from the Main Beis Medrash into the dining-room and classrooms. Mayanot is enticing to the unaffiliated and a paradise for the Ba’al Teshuvah. Anyone who donates to Mayanot can be assured that they are DIRECTLY… Read more »
