Grammy-nominated recording artist Matisyahu will sing his friend and fellow observant Jew Dmitriy Salita (31-1-1 16KO’s) into the ring with “King Without A Crown” when the welterweight goes up against Mike Anchondo (30-3 19 KO’s) for the IBA world title fight at Roseland on Dec. 16.
The two have been friends since 2006, when Matisyahu sang Salita into the ring for his NABA title win and TKO of Shawn Gallegos, and Salita is hoping for the same result this time.
“It’s gonna be a historic night of boxing,” Eli Tov, COO of Salita Promotions, told the New York Daily News. “We are already close to sold out.”
The undercard will feature the comeback of heavyweight Monte “Two Gunz” Barrett (34-9, 20 KO’s).
