A Chavrusa learning program that launched in Crown Heights last summer with great success is making a comeback this week.
Last summer, participants gathered each weeknight at Beis Eliezer Yitzchok Shul on Kingston Avenue to learn in a Chavrusa setting.
They then enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner.
The “Match Me a Chavrusa” learning program, which over 600 people joined during the last summer’s program, is held l’iluy Nishmas Rabbi Don Yoel Levy OBM.
The program was started last year, after many said they would like to have someone to learn with, organizer Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld said, who is on hand each evening to assist with matching up participants with a learning partner.
To fulfill this need, the Beis Eliezer Yitzchak Shul, located at 394 Kingston Ave. (above Mikvah Meir), opened its doors for the residents of Crown Heights.
Tonight, as the program begins for this summer, a full milchig buffet sponsored by the Maccabi Dairy company will be served.
The learning takes place every evening just after Mincha, which is at 8:00 pm. The Chavrusa learning is followed by Maariv at 9:05 pm. After Maariv, a 10-minute shiur in Hilchos Beis Habechira will be held as per the instruction of the Rebbe.
Those interested in learning with a chavrusa during the evenings can contact Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld via WhatsApp at 347-515-3232 and he will do his utmost to match you with a chavrusa.
Based on what, does he attempt to match someone with a chavrusa?
