In a special historic trip, all the bochurim of Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester will travel together with Rabbi Moshe Wolberg and Rabbi Berel Korf to participate in the Vaad Hatmimim program for Yud Shvat.
At the request of many alumni, the yeshiva has arranged multiple farbrengens with Rabbi Korf and Wolberg in New York.
“We keep hearing from alumni how they wistfully miss the unique farbrengens from their time here in Manchester, so this is a great opportunity,” says Shalom Rice, of the Yeshiva administration.
The bochurim kicked off their month of hachona for Yud Shvat with a Melave malka Fabrengen with Rabbi Peretz Chein hosted at his Chabad House in Cheadle, forty minutes drive from the Yeshiva. During the farbrengen, Rabbi Chein shared many personal and family stories and pushed the bochurim to be constantly remembering that the Rebbe is with us at every moment.
In honor of chof daled Teves and building off the connections they made during a communal Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen, the bochurim arranged a fabrengen for the wider community at the Machzikei Hadas Beis Hamedrash. They brought Rabbi Gurary in from Antwerp to farbreng and the farbrengen attracted large crowds from the litvish and chasidish communities. Rabbonim and Roshei Kollel from various Chasidishe kreizen and the local litvishe kehilos attended the farbrengen that lasted into the wee hours of the morning. Again many new shiurim and chavrusas were arranged as a result.
Taking advantage of the many shluchim and chasidishe personalities in the Greater Manchester region and beyond, the bochurim travelled to Chabad of Leeds University for Shabbos Mevorchim Shvat. With his students still out of town for winter break Rabbi Michoel Danow spent the Shabbos learning, davening and farbrenging with the bochurim.
All this was in addition to the Mivtza Hachanah for Yud Shevat which had the bochurim engrossed in learning Mamorim Baal Peh as well as participating in the extra sedorim before Chassidus and after night seder. As the Shabbos before Yud Shvat came along and the bochurim prepared to embark on their journey to the Rebbe, they were joined by Rabbi Eizer Cohen, Shliach to Paris. From kabolas Shabbos until maariv, the yeshiva was full with the sound of extra chayus in farbrengen, davening and learning.
The Hanholo Gashmis continues to develop a wholesome program including opportunity for the boys to go swimming at a local pool. There are also plans to add additional staff both in the gashmiyus and ruchniyus departments.

After all the nonesense we hear about bochurim being “‘mekushorim” etc., it’s refreshing to finally hear the real truth why bochurim are traveling:
“all the bochurim of Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester will travel . . to participate in the Vaad Hatmimim program for Yud Shvat”.
