At one visit this week to complete the Unity Torah, one man discovered that he has a deep connection to the writing of the Torah, that he did not know about before.
The Torah has been visiting various communities in the New York area, and prominent Rabbonim and community leaders are being given the chance to inscribe the final letters in the Torah which was begun at the start of the pandemic and will be completed this Sunday.
The Munkatcher Rebbe, R’ Moshe Leib Rabinovich, who resides in Boro Park, Brooklyn, was invited to write a letter in the Torah as well, and the Torah organizers and Sofer Rabbi Moshe Klein visited his home in Boro Park.
They were all set up for the writing, but were informed at the last minute that the Munkatcher Rebbe was not feeling well and would be unable to do it.
Instead, the Munkatcher Rebbe sent his son, Rabbi Fishel Rabinowitz, as a Shliach to inscribe the letter in his name.
After writing the letter, R’ Rabinowitz went home and told his family that he had written a letter in the Unity Torah, which was begun as a “Miracle Sefer Torah” to bring miraculous healing to Klal Yisroel while in the throes of the terrible pandemic.
R’ Rabinowitz was shocked when his family informed him that he had a deep connection to the Torah, which he had never heard about before.
His family informed him that while he was critically ill with COVID, in the ICU and attached to a ventilator, his family had been afraid for his life, and had heard about the miracle Sefer Torah.
“We purchased a letter for you in the Torah,” his children told him. “And Baruch Hashem you recovered. You are a living miracle of this Sefer Torah,” they said.
What an amazing Hashgacha Pratis that I have survived the illness and have had the zechus to write a letter in the Torah that surely contributed to my recovery,” R’ Rabinowitz said.
