A perpetrator was arrested on Monday afternoon after stealing a bike and assaulting the victim in Crown Heights.
The incident occurred near Troy Ave and Eastern Parkway at approximately 3:00PM. The victim, who is Jewish, put the bike down while unloading his vehicle and when he turned around, he realized his bike was stolen. Since the bike had tracking built into it, he was able to track its location and notified Crown Heights Shmira.
While the victim was retrieving the bike, the perpetrator suddenly arrived and assaulted the victim in an attempt to prevent him from repossessing it before fleeing the scene.
Crown Heights Shmira responded, notified the NYPD and the perpetrator was placed under arrest.
A knife was discovered in his possession at the time of his arrest.
