Machon L’Yahadus is hosting an Evening this Wednesday evening, open to all women and girls in the community.
The evening is in honor of Rebbetzin Chana on the occasion of her 59th yartzeit.
Machon L’Yahadus looks to Rebbetzin Chana, mother of the Rebbe, as the paradigm of Jewish womanhood and aims to educate its students in the spirit of her life.
The celebration begins with refreshments at 8:00 p.m. and features Mrs. Esther Sternberg, whose stories of personal encounters always inspire and invigorate her audience. Rabbi Shloma Majeski, principal of Machon L’Yahadus will share an opening Dvar Torah. Current student Chaya Raizel Michaelson from Glastonbury, Connecticut, will share her journey to Machon L’Yahadus.
Machon L’Yahadus, a school for young Jewish women at all points on their Jewish journey, is thriving. “A new enthusiastic group of students have joined us this year as well as returning second year students, notes Rabbi Majeski. “Our growth is thanks to our teaching and support staff at Machon L’Yahadus who are all passionate about what they teach and devoted to the students.
“Just last week we received a message from the parent of one of our students who attended Machon L’Yahadus last year and continues to attend classes in her free time: ‘The amazing Machon staff and teachers change the lives of girls and their families as they bring them closer to Yiddishkeit and to the Rebbe!’”
Another student, who studied at Machon L’Yahadus two years ago and has returned to Israel, messaged: I miss you very much and think about you a lot! Wherever I am, I feel the foundation and love that the school gave me. I was an instructor at a seminar organized by Tal Fishman [Machon L’Yahadus alum and shlucha at Chabad on Campus Eilat], and we shared our experiences from Machon L’Yahadus.”
The evening will take place in the Machon L’Yahadus dorm at 1367 President Street.
Rabbi JJ Hecht shared at a children’s rally on Rebbetzin Chana’s 20th yartzeit in front of the Rebbe his question about Rebbetzin Chana’s presence at the dorm and the Rebbe’s answer. “My mother is always there – Iz mine Mame alla mohl duh.”
The dorm is under the direction of Mrs. Shterna Rodal, dorm mother. Anyone unable to attend in person can join on zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88317555910?pwd=K0JLMFpHVENUU0wzSlRuL3Q4RFpaZz09 Password: VovTishrei.
