The Jewish community in Russia’s capital of Moscow is preparing for the upcoming holiday of Sukkos that will begin this Friday night.
The Marina Roscha synagogue and community center resembled a marketplace with a selection of daled minim being offered to members of the community who took their time to carefully choose the best esrog and lulav, among them was Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar.
A large sukkah was built to allow social distancing, in addition to many other smaller sukkahs being built in the yards of Jewish institutions in town for guests who don’t have their own sukkah.
Minyanim will still be held in the main synagogue but in a limited capacity due to the Covid pandemic.
