Look at the comments on the Ron Paul Gaza youtube video. Most of his supporters are disgusting anti-Semites. Is that what Jews need? Do we need a president that attracts anti-Semites fervent worship? Ron Paul will encourage the rise of the extreme right-wing anti-Semitic xenophobic sentiment. The fervour Ron Paul inspires is sickenly similar to what Hitler was able to inspire in the German youth of the 1930’s. Both extreme left-wing and extreme right-wing are dangerous for Jews, for both attract fanatics and anti-Semites. History shows us that any fanatical movement whether right or left wing (eg from recent history:… Read more »

1. “Ron Paul is an anti-Semite” We know it says “eisav soneh es Yaakov”, so even if there isn’t proof, we may assume that he they don’t have our best interests in mind. At the same time, I reiterate: I’d rather an anti-semite who ALLOWS us to have our rights than someone who claims to be favorable to Jews but DENIES us our rights! Hitler was a Haman not because he hated Jews but tried to kill us – by illegalizing our ability to defend ourselves. 2. “Ron Paul is anti-israel” No he isn’t. He’s pro-America. We shouldn’t vote based… Read more »

To #42 I posted that link on my reply #35: Is he an anti-semite? Maybe. Does it matter? He is very predictable and consistent in his philosophy (voted the same way for the past 28 years, never flip flopped on any issue etc) and will respect Israel’s sovereignty. While I might not have him over for Shabbos dinner, he still gets my vote. Like # 23 said “I’d rather an anti-semite who ALLOWS us to have our rights than someone who claims to be favorable to Jews but DENIES us our rights. ” To #41 Yep, I”m very much concerned… Read more »

Ron Paul is against taking on Iran and doesn’t care if Iran has nuclear weapons or not. He believes Iran having nuclear weapons is no threat to Israel or to anyone else. Read any analysis of the Israeli capability to take out Iran’s nuclear program and most analysis say that Israel probably can only delay the project a couple of years. Unlike Iraq 1981, Iran is putting its nuclear facilities deep underground, at many different sites . A bunker busting bomb can penetrate 6 meters of concrete. Iran is putting its facilities 30 meters underground, and spread out over the… Read more »

Unlike Iraq, Iran is putting its nuclear facilities deep underground, at many different sites . A bunker busting bomb can penetrate 6 meters of concrete. Iran is putting its facilities 30 meters underground, and spread out over the whole country in many sites. Only repeated strikes over many weeks can hope to destroy the program. Israel might be able to do one time surgical strike like in Iraq. But it cannot… Read more »

Ron Paul is not a friend
January 31, 2012 1:33 pm

Keep you friends close…. and wipe out your enemies!

Ron Paul is a Nazi supporter not a Jewish supporter
January 31, 2012 1:31 pm

We don’t need an American President to hate Israel in oder for Israel to do the right thing we need Israel to just do the right thing! Israel can reject the money rather than be cut off! I can’t understand the lack of logic. We need more interest in allowing the Jewish people to survive and thrive not less interest. Most importantly this inters needs to come from within the Jewish people. This is not the job of an outsider!!!

Thank you COL for helping spread the very important and Lubvaticher idea of Jewish pride and independence. To those who still don’t understand why Jews would vote for Ron Paul: Only Jews should have a say on Israel’s borders and how she defends herself. Think of your shliach. When the biggest supporter comes into shul he probably walks all the way from the other side to say hello, but when you walk in he doesn’t go out of his way. If Israel is free to say NO to a two state final solution, then she would need a lot less… Read more »

Ignorant comments
January 31, 2012 1:11 am

Very ignorant comments made by someone who does not understand the reality on the ground here in Israel.

Why do people say Ron Paul is an Anti-Semite?
January 31, 2012 1:06 am

I have not found basis to support the claim made quite often that Ron Paul is an anti-semite. Where does this come from? Is it because he doesn’t want to give aid to America? He doesn’t want to give aid to anyone. America is bankrupt. It can’t afford to give money. It doesn’t have. Why should it give to Israel or any other country? Everyone attacks his foreign policy when arguably the most broken policy in America is our foreign policy. Read the history. America supported Saddam and then decided to overturn him. Same with Osama. Same with almost every… Read more »

Even this bochur is concerned about Ron Paul hands off attitude toward Iran
January 31, 2012 12:10 am

Ron Paul said clearly he doesn’t mind if Iran gets a nuclear weapon. He believes that Iran would never use it on Israel. So under Ron Paul there would be no attempt to stop Iran getting a nuclear weapon. Israel does not have the capability to destroy Iran’s nuclear program on its own. If it did have the capability it would have done so already. So Ron Paul is the worst possible case scenario for Israel regarding Iran.

MAYBE....
January 30, 2012 11:44 pm

maybe this bochur is doing so much chitas and learning so much Torah, and doing so many of the Rebbe’s mivtzoim, that he missed the correct information….or he cannot see the forest through the trees…..if he was my son I would really have a long talk with him.

Najman is a friend and very smart and astute. I agree with him on paul for many things, i.e. that we need to stop supporting israel financially and at the same time stop pressuring Israel to peace.

But Paul has some real far out and downright crazy ideas..

BS”D
January 30, 2012 10:10 pm

No Loshon hara, I don’t know enough about the current candidates, and I’m too young to vote anyway. Cool that he got on camera, and I don’t think we should infringe on each others political views, each to their own, although we should strive to choose someone who will keep us in mind, I hope ron paul would be that guy, but I know there are others.

January 30, 2012 10:09 pm

i have yet to hear ron paul come out and tell voters exactly where he stands in foreign policy, israel specifically. as long as he’s fudging on these issues he wont be considered by too many individuals.

January 30, 2012 9:41 pm

Why are we listening to what a foreigner has to say?

ron paul!?
January 30, 2012 9:32 pm

yes is economic plans are good, but if you support Israel you will stay far away from him!!

WHY?
January 30, 2012 9:32 pm

Why would any jew support Ron Paul. He is the worst choice for Israel.

Ron Paul 2012, 2016... As long as it takes.
January 30, 2012 9:19 pm

I’d rather an anti-semite who ALLOWS us to have our rights than someone who claims to be favorable to Jews but DENIES us our rights. Like I always say: I’m not worried about who we vote for in 2012. I’m worried if we’ll be able to vote in 2016.

Not sure I could support Ron Paul, BUT...
January 30, 2012 8:58 pm

This guy makes an excellent point. If America stopped dictating Israel’s policy toward the Palestinians, it is much MUCH more likely that an Israeli who is against a two state solution would step up and run for PM. Right now, any Israeli politician who wants to put a halt to the “peace process” knows that it is an uphill battle with the US pushing for a “solution.” Ron Paul would make an opening for that guy in Israel. Furthermore, Israel’s intelligence sharing with the US on Iran and other simmering problems in the Middle East would be values by a… Read more »

he`s right on everything besides for debating, in which obama will take down ron paul.

yes, ron paul for president!
January 30, 2012 7:50 pm

His non-interventionist policies are the best for E”Y! Now E”Y would be able to do whatever it wants without interference from US presidents (anyone who knows a smidgen of history knows how much all (including the Republican) our presidents have prevented the Israeli government from GOING ALL THE WAY).

Ron Paul

January 30, 2012 7:00 pm

we all agree that ron paul is an anti semite, what the bochur is saying that if paul gets his way and america stops giving financial help to israel, israel being the advanced country that it is will be forced to do what it has to do to survive and will, israel wont be forced by american pressure to cede land to the enemy c”v because they are not receiving handouts. we need moshiach now

HIS CONCERN?!
January 30, 2012 6:57 pm

its always good to see some bachur that his main concern is the constitution. i think thats the nekuda of basi lgani yud beis

what?
January 30, 2012 6:48 pm

My guess is he is a conspiracy nut also.

Why Ron Paul
January 30, 2012 6:09 pm

Lately I’ve been having trouble sleeping. I sit here in my living room in Karnei Shomron, Israel, on the 8th night of Chanukah, wondering what other miracles lay in store on January 3rd and in the months ahead. The name Ron Paul is constantly at my fingertips. I’ve typed it in so many times the past month it’s insane. I’m experiencing an excitement I’ve rarely ever felt, and I don’t even live in America anymore. During the last Republican debate I woke myself up at 3am Israel time to watch an 8pm EST live stream on YouTube, with no fatigue… Read more »

Yes! you racist profiling left leaning scum bag, we orthodox jews are a brainwashed people. Your cult like support of Paul surpasses that of a adherent obama supporter.

Pathetic
January 30, 2012 4:24 pm

Ron Paul is is an anti Semitic scumbag, who blamed Israel for the WTC bombing in the 90’s. He even called Gaza a concentration camp (calling us Nazis). He is smart enough to know that America is pro Israel, so to win he needs to be as well. So he masks his anti Israel Policies, under the guise of Israel is our equal, they need to be independent, yada yada… At the end of the day he would not lift a finger for Israel in a war! He said so himself. Don’t fall for his crap! Read up!

He has a point
January 30, 2012 4:14 pm

The Rebbe said many times that its time for Israel to stop depending on the USA because then they feel that they must listen to America. During the cold war, the Rebbe even went so far to say that Israel shouldn’t side only with the USA, but they should look to make friends with the Soviets to have some balance as to where they’re alliances are (remember that Stalin’s Russia voted for the creation of Israel in the UN before Truman’s USA did). So this Bochur has his head on straight as far as to what should be Israel’s policy.… Read more »

I am a registered Republican, and have been following this race for a long time. 1) Supporting Ron Paul is 100% not in the interest of the Jewish community. 2) I don’t beleive he’s an anti Semite however many of his supporters are, never mind his smiling pictures with NK and 1 of the top neo Nazi’s, his friendly interview with Iranian TV. 3) he might have some good points, about the debt crises and over sized federal Government, however he won’t be able to get any of agenda done b/c Congress won’t get behind him. I guess to look… Read more »
