The 7th and 8th-grade students of United Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Crown Heights enthralled two sold-out audiences with a captivating production on Sunday afternoon.
In honor of Yud Shvat, the students put on a show titled “The Villain From Vilna” at a local auditorium, complete with elaborate costumes and realistic backdrops.
The immersive and entertaining production transported the audience to a dramatic story of the Alter Rebbe’s war against the Haskalah movement, in a performance infused with song, drama and humor.
The show was directed by Rabbi Yossi Teleshevsky and Rabbi Moishy Goldstein.
The students had spent their free time during recess and after Yeshiva on this extra-curricular activity in the past few months, and had the opportunity to express their talents and share inspiration with the community.
Sunday’s show was the third annual “Generation Seven” production, continuing off the tremendous success of the previous years’ sold-out productions, titled “Tales of Ahavas Yisroel” and “Kadetski Korpus.”
High-quality download of last years’ production is available at yttl.org/dvd
Zalmy teichman your the best actor ever !!!
Confident and clear. He was great.
I can’t fathom how they managed to fit in so much toichen, so much comedy (who wrote so many original jokes?), such good choreography, and the yechidus scene…was shocking! I didn’t want it to end.
