A new Mesivta is opening in Israel this fall, and it’s unique.
The Yiras Shomayim is palpable. The Chassidishkeit is live. The learning is attainable. And, most importantly, the tuition is affordable.
Yeshivas Chabad-Lubavitch of Petach-Tikva is for bochrim who are Yirei Shomayim, and are interested in chassidishe standards without compromise. It’s perfect for boys who grew up out-of-town, or for students who just want to excel at being Chassidishe bochrim.
This Yeshiva is for bochrim who want to learn nigleh as well as chassidus, yet not get crushed from overly intense academic demands. It’s for boys whose parents want for them an authentic, pleasant chassidishe atmosphere, yet they- the parents- should not get crushed from overly high financial demands.
There are several key components on plan to make this happen.
1. The Seder of learning will be divided into relatively short blocks of time, interspersed with breaks.
2. During recess, physical activity, such as running, ball games and swimming will be actively encouraged, so that the students can return to their desks invigorated and refreshed, ready to learn.
3. The main focus will be avodah- personal growth in davening, middos, hiddur mitzvah and hiskashrus. This will be accomplished through lots of discussion-style farbrengens, as well as interpersonal connection with bochrim who are a few years older than the talmidim.
The staff – led by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yitzchok Akselrod, are experienced veteran mechanchim, and speak English as well. The plan is that within a few short months, the boys will pick up enough Hebrew to be integrated into the mainstream Hebrew shiurim of the Yeshiva.
Rabbi Akselrod is a graduate of ‘Oholei Torah’ Zal, and has many years of experience teaching hundreds of Mesivta students in the past two decades. He currently serves as Mashpia of Yeshivat Chabad in Or Yehuda, and is bringing top-notch educators on board.
Some of the staff members will be:
* Rabbi Chaim Moishe Alperovitch, currently a mashpia in Kfar-Chabad
* Rabbi Ahron (Roni) Cohen, currently teaching at Chabad Mesivta in Lod
* Rabbi Menachem Mendel Friedman, currently Rosh Kolel in Ramat-Aviv
The campus is located in Hadar Ganim, a quiet neighborhood in Petach-Tikva. The rooms are fully furnished and air-conditioned. Each bedroom is equipped with its own bathroom and shower. Satisfying nutritious meals, with plenty of variety, will be prepared by an in-house chef in our brand new state of the art kitchen, and served in our spacious dining room. Throughout the year, the boys will get to visit the mekomos hakedoshim of Eretz Yisroel, as well as other tourist attractions, such as Masada.
Monthly tuition will be $500 for each student. We are pleased to announce that registration is well underway. The New York office will be run by Rabbi Dovid Goldshmid, one of the Yeshiva founders. He can be reached at (347) 789-3135. The email address for further inquiry is [email protected].
At the Mesivta Chabad Petach-Tikva, we see it as our mission to provide our bochrim with authentic chassidishe education, in a way that is pleasant for both parents and students. We look forward to serving the worldwide Lubavitch community.
I am not at all impressed with rigorous learning styles. Its too much for most . Warm chassidishe environment with nice extra curricular activies.. we want Happy chassidishe children
in our days it is so hard to get bochurim with Yiras Shomayim and Chassidishkeit . This is more importanrt that aiming to learm more blatt gemorah. Will it make a difference in the future if your son learned 50 or 100 pages gemora? NO!. But it will make a difference if he is still frum !!!!!!!!!!! When a yeshiva puts a very rigorous learning style , the boys gets turned off and have no more CHESHEK to learn. They definitely need more of a warm environment, sports …. Don’t forget that we r in a very different time than… Read more »
Yiras Shomayim is important. Chassidishkeit is important. Both of those are less teachable and more modeled by parents and environment and genetics. Nice to see attanetion and value given to physical exercise. But learning is arguably the most important. Tuition is certainly not to be the most important (in a Lubavitch school). Oh well. At least this place is trying. But it would be really exciting to see a school that trumpets its education highest and foremost, imparting clearly identified tools within a clearly identified curriculum that will arm its students to be able to succeed in today’s world.
Tuition is exteemely reasonable. Better than every american achool we applied to. Definitely will consider
It’s what a lot if us are looking for. How often is Shabbas off and what will boys who don’t have where to go will do?
It’s a price for any Israeli university plus dormitory per month … Why our kids education must be so expensive when we have BH in general huge families …
Lots of success
