Students in grade 5 of the Lubavitch Boys school in London, England, enjoyed a wonderful shabbaton last week at Chabad of Buckhurst Hill which the class earned for davening points.
All the boys in the class were able to join, in addition to two older boys as helpers. The program began after school on Friday with a trip to an indoor play area.
They were hosted by the Buckhurst Hill Shlcuhim Rabbi Adam Brandman and his wife.
The boys davened kabbalas shabbos and maariv and were a real inspiration to the community. The boys then went to the shluchim for a delicious meal. After plenty of food, songs, and stories it was time to head back to the Chabad house where the boys slept.
Shabbos afternoon saw many exciting activities which included MBP learning, teams competitions, skits, mesiba shabbos and more. After seeing the magical havdalah, the boys enjoyed a BBQ / malve malka and then went for a night hike in the forest. It was truly a shabbos that will be long remembered.
Some of the comments that were made regarding this great shabbos:
“The singing on shabbos was so beautiful. I loved it!”
“The boys behaved so well during shabbos. They made a huge Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Lubavitch.”
“The drive in Shloime’s van was so much fun!”
The shabbaton was run and organized by Rabbi Shmuel Aryeh Hackner, the grade 5 teacher and extra-curricular director at the school.
A special thank you goes to Shloime Sufrin for driving the boys and all his help over shabbos, and to Menachem Hadad and Mendel Moses who were the older boys who came along to help.
We love you man…
