Living Torah: A Torah for Moshiach
On the 10th of Shevat in 1950, the Rebbe’s father-in-law and predecessor, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson, passed away. Eight years beforehand, in 1942, he had commissioned the writing of the “Torah Scroll to Greet Moshiach”, a project that was not completed during his lifetime in this world. As the 20th anniversary of his passing approached in 1970, the Rebbe announced that the time had come to complete the Torah scroll. Video
