MUST is pleased to invite the mothers in our community to an empowering event on Monday, December 27, at 8:00 pm at the JCM.
Over 75 classes have joined MUST pacts this year and are uniting together to stall personal ownership of devices. Heeding the request from so many parents to continue inspiring them to stay strong, we have invited an impressive lineup of presenters.
Rabbi Dr. Yosef Shagalow, a clinical psychologist who has been supporting families and schools dealing with mental health crises with extensive experience with phone addiction, will convey “What Our Kids Wished We Knew.”
Mrs. Simi Polonsky-Hoffman, co-founder of the Frock NYC, who has recently reduced her social media presence significantly will candidly speak about her struggle with social media.
We are also featuring Tech Talks, a panel of local women sharing their families’ struggles with technology use and practical solutions.
We’ve got a problem on our hands and we know we can solve it together. Come join us as we strengthen ourselves, our families and our community!

Anu way that 2 amazing events shouldn’t coincide with each other ? There’s another event at ULY same night
I know that’s a strange question considering the topic is less technology usage..
It’s about less technology for your kids…..not saying you can’t have zoom but that your kids should develop as ppl before becoming one with their phone
1. Anything that hurts our kids hurts us too. If we’re saying social media or technology is bad for our kids it’s bad for us too.
2. If you’re not being an example, good luck to your kids. Truly.
Must is about holding back technology for kids. Obviously it’s not great for adults either but not stopping you from having zoom.
They are not into taking phones away from the kids once they get them either. It’s about using it responsibly and great if adults do not use it often
Parents drive cars, kids don’t. Some things kids are not able to rely on their own judgment.
Not what you say. It’s true adults can do what they want. But they will not impart the messages to their kids in a long term or meaningful way. The second you’re not looking they will do what they want. Watch the rebbe video from the event that says you should be a living example.
Have parents on phones while they are crying by the dr, being pushed on the swing at their school events or even as they just talk about their day
Will there be a live stream?
It’s important for everyone!
Will this be suitable for fathers and husbands as well?
totally!
I’m not sure how i would have been able to make it through the covid pandemic…not being able to talk to anyone for months because of lockdowns and quarantining.
If it wasn’t for technology, there would never have been any lengthy lockdown.
Can someone suggest good filtering software for computer? And for iPhone?
I feel there is so much confusion with these filters, what works what doesn’t etc etc especially for us of the older generation. We need more education about this but mainly PRACTICAL advice and somewhere to turn for help and advice about these filters!! WHY does crown heights not have a TAG office ?????? Only a van that comes once a week!?!???? This is pikuach nefesh!!!!!
When and where does the tag van come ?
thank you so much
Very well done!
is there a recording of this event?
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
For the sake of your kids get off your phones and have anyone that cares for your kids do the same.
So inspiring!
