This 37th annual L’Chaim-ToLife! Telethon of Chabad of California will be broadcast today on Sunday 11 Elul – September 3.
One of the most watched Jewish event of the year, the telethon will be aired on COLlive.com and television stations around the country with an estimated hundreds of thousands of Jews tuning in.
Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, Head Shliach of California, has been spearheading the Telethon for all these years and he is the energetic force behind this Kiddush HaShem.
For many Jews, the Telethon serves as their annual reminder that Rosh HaShanah is just a few days away. It inspires these Jews to seek out a local Chabad Center and join them for the Yomim Noraim with the hope that they will come back throughout the year and participate in more Jewish events.
This year, the Telethon will also offer donors the option of earmarking their contributions for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas and support for the safety and security of Jews in our Holy Land.
Los Angeles’ Jewish Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilman Paul Koretz, Controller Ron Galperin, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and other prominent politicians are expected to join Chabad for this special event.
As in previous years, Hollywood celebrities will join the show as well, amongst them Jon Voigt, Elliott Gould and others will be encouraging the public to donate funds to Chabad’s many social service programs.
The show will be hosted by nationwide radio host Dennis Prager and renowned attorney Marshall Grossman.
