A gala celebration in Montreal will be heard and seen the world over this coming Sunday.
The Chabad centers of Quebec, in a joint effort, will be marking the completion of the ninth “Unity Sefer Torah” at the Chabad center of Cote S. Luc (CSL), Montreal—a written Torah scroll whose every letter represents a sponsoring member of Klal Yisroel.
The Unity Sefer Torah concept was created and spearheaded in the 1980s by the Rebbe, with a sofer in Israel penning the first of what became eight Torah scrolls to symbolically unite the Jewish Nation.
Fast-forward several decades, the project is now completing its ninth Torah scroll all but officially sponsored by world Jewry.
The event also celebrates this year’s closing Hakhel year, whose theme revolves around gathering Jews together for the furtherance of more Torah study and doing of mitzvos.
The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 10, at Chabad CSL, 6501 Kildaire in Montreal, and will also be broadcast live on COLlive.com.
The Rebbe encouraged everyone – men, women and children – to have their own letter in the Sefer Torah. Sign up at unityletter.com
Thank you Rabbi Levi Itkin for arranging a truly beautiful event
