A familiar yet unexpected voice was heard at a Chassidic Farbrengen in the Chabad House of Flatbush on Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn.
It was of the Shliach Rabbi Zalman Liberow.
Recovering from a car crash that killed his 9 year-old son 4 weeks ago, Liberow called one of the participants at the gathering in honor of Yud Shvat.
“L’Chaim!” he opened by saying, as his voice was heard on the speaker phone.
“On this day of Yud Shvat, we should see the hisgalus,” Liberow said, speaking from UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Locals present were deeply moved by the short remarks, as the Shliach’s medical situation was critical only a few weeks ago.
Levi Liberow, his 19 year-old son, told COLlive.com Tuesday: “Baruch Hashem, my father is doing well emotionally, physically and mentally.”
He went on to report that his father “is awake and can speak. He’s breathing well, on his own, and fully knows whats going on. But he still has many physical injuries.”
A student of the Chabad Yeshiva in Tzfas, Levi will be helping out in the Chabad House in the coming few weeks. He will eventually head back to Israel when things settle back at home.
Tehillim is still needed (Schneur Zalman ben Dabrusha) and so are donations as the family’s sole provider remains hospitalized. Donate here
