One can never turn a blind eye to human suffering. Regardless of race color or creed, chesed was and is universal.
With Hurricane Ian just barely off the shores of South West Florida, massive cleanup efforts were underway. How to manage? Well, the newly formed Lubavitch Educational Center High School and their younger brothers the LEC Middle School sprung into action. Volunteering their days, breaks and time they rallied up community support, donations, and supplies and went off with their Rebbeim. To do what? To clean! To cook! To repair! To wrap tefillin! To share a hug! To say they care! Ft Meyers and Cape Coral was their destination but their final destination was the hearts and minds of the many souls they touched along the way.
“Our wishes of support continue to go out to Rabbi Minkowitz and Rabbi Labkowski among the many other shluchim trying to rebuild restock and help their communities,” said Rabbi Yakov Garfinkel, the High School Principal.
Thanks were given to Rabbi Benjy Korf – Dean of LEC for supplying many of the delivered donations and for encouraging the students and staff to support those in need. Thank you to Rabbi Schwartz, Rabbi Shachar, and Rabbi Evers for donating their time effort and energy and being mechanech the students in such a stellar manner.
Thank you Cindy of ‘Temptings,’ a boutique bakery, for donating gourmet gift boxes for each of the struggling families.
