Learning Retreat Inspires Women

Last week, women from around Australia flocked to MerkosWomen for its annual winter learning retreat.

Creative workshops, interactive discussions and textual study inspired a spirit of learning and friendship among participants.

The program was led by Scholar in Residence, Rabbi Ritchie Moss.

Guest Speakers included Rabbi Mendel Gluckowsky from Israel and Rabbi Chaim Miller from the U.S., who addressed the students at a Friday Night Dinner. He spoke about the Rebbe in honour of Gimmel Tammuz.

One participant from Sydney said Going Deep taught her to be proud of being Jewish. During the seminar, she officially took on her Jewish name and the girls made a celebratory kiddush for her after a naming ceremony in Shule.

MerkosWomen Seminary Beis students play a pivotal role in the seminar. They are given the opportunity to arrange farbrengens, give shiurim and welcome the girls into the program.
