With sadness we report the sudden passing of Leah Gelber, a member of the Charlotte, NC community, on Wednesday, the 8th of Cheshvan, 5780.
She was 73.
She is survived by her son, Avrohom Gelber – Crown Heights.
She is also survived by her sister, Sally Anderson (Virginia), her brother, Sam Storch (Florida), and grandchildren.
The levaya will take place today, Thursday, New Montefiore Cemetery in Queens at 2:30pm.
Shiva will take place at 1445 Union Street btwn Kingston and Brooklyn.

Leah became observant in her teens and was very strong in her commitment to Torah and Mitzvos. She had a high rank in the US FDA and later in the pharmaceutical industry, and her observance of high level was a Kiddush Hashem. She was especially active in Taharas Hamishpacha and was involved in managing the mikvah at Lubavitch Shul in Brighton. She traveled through the jungles of the Phillipines to a tropical river for tevila, according to the instructions of Rabbi Soloveitchik OBM.
