Esteemed NY Lawyer Norman Siegal lit the giant Menorah at the Aliya Institute in Crown Heights.
Siegel is the lawyer representing Ehud Halevi in his civil case against the city of NY for the brutal beating he received at Aliya this past Simchas Torah.
Siegel, who traveled in from Manhattan at a late hour just for the lighting of the 14 foot Menorah, shared some inspirational words with the Aliya members.
In his remarks, Siegel spoke about how everyone has a Maccabee inside them that yearns to fight for their rights and we should all have the courage to stand up for what we believe in.
Siegel also pledged to help Aliya expand and update its center to make it bigger, nicer and open to more young people.
The night also featured great music from Aliya’s in house bands including Yellow Red Sky headed by Shevach Tamir, Night Owls headed by Dovid Joseph, DJ Dovid Nesher, and an Israli band called Hitaruta.
The evening was filled with great music and inspiration which gave a beautiful sense of Chanuka to all Aliya members as well as their friends that came along for the special Chanuka party.
Just knew you’d be A Shliach one day! Now Moshiach could come!
What an inspirational place Aliya is.
please help them get their new building off the ground
