Last week Sunday, August 30th Tes Vav Elul, “Beis Gimpel Chaim-The Nemes Hall” celebrated its grand opening at 309 New York Avenue.
The beautiful, newly renovated location was filled to capacity with members of the Shul and their families, who enjoyed a catered dinner while being entertained by world-renowned composer/singer Yossi Green accompanied by the Mezamrim Choir.
Master of Ceremonies, Rabbi Shloimy Greenwald, introduced speakers including Rabbi Zalman Lipsker, Shliach of Philadelphia, PA and Rabbi Mendel Slavin, Shliach of S. Clemente, CA.
Rabbi Mendy Nemes of Crown Heights and Keynote speaker, Rabbi Yaakov Orimland, shared stories of the Shul and Simcha Hall’s namesakes.
Beis Gimpel Chaim is mainly attended by Anash living in the Northwest section of Crown Heights and grew organically out of the needs of these residents to have a comfortable place to daven, learn, and build a sense of community.
With daily minyanim including Shacharis at 7am and Maariv at 9pm, and a full Shabbos schedule of davening, learning, and kiddishum, BGC’s community is already thriving. The first Friday night in the new shul already hosted close to 100 men in attendance.
Named for Reb Gimpel Orimland and Reb Chaim Gastfrend OBM, shul members are proud to uphold the same Chassidishe warmth and Ahavas Yisroel inspired by its namesakes. Beis Gimpel Chaim is also dedicated to the memory of Reb Shmuel Leib Strauss OBM.
The Nemes Hall, named after the respected chossid Rabbi Yitzchok and Zelda Nemes OBM, is an elegant location for events such as L’Chaims, Brissim, Bar Mitzvahs, Shalom Zachors and more.
Members of the shul’s board are Mendel Sufrin, Moshe Ringler, Shimon Struass, Shaul Dahan, Shmuli Brashavitzky and Shloime Greenwald.
The hall features a glass-door and Jerusalem stone lobby, separate entrances for men and women, marble sinks and separate bathrooms, a built-in sound system, downstairs kitchen area, and multiple colored lighting options.
The large-screen projector and state of the art amenities make it a great space for conferences, as well. For more information or to book your upcoming event, please visit www.TheNemes.com.
