500 people turned out for a last minute Yud Tes Kislev gathering at the Great Synagogue in Yerushalayim on Sunday night.
The annual event is organized by shluchim Rabbi Eliyahu and Chana Canterman of Chabad Talbiya – Mamilla.
“We hadn’t any plans this year because of the situation,” Chana Canterman said. “Then the Great Synagogue called on Wednesday saying they were granted permission and we had three days to arrange everything. That so many people turned out is literally a miracle! It shows how they’re thirsting for inspiration at this time.”
The special event included guest of honor, former Chief Rabbi Yisroel Meir Lau who relayed his personal meetings with the Rebbe and applied it to the present time.
Guest speaker was Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet from London who drew lessons from Tanya on how to navigate the current darkness in our world.
There was also special musical interludes by Avi Piamenta and the Hershtik singers. Spontaneous dancing erupted as well.
The Cantermans have also been busy taking care of 450 evacuees from the South, with daily meals and clothing.

I was there! It was very special.
