After three years in their location at Eastern Parkway in which they more than doubled their school’s size from 42 to 96 students, Lamplighters Yeshivah needed a new space.
“After months and months of searching, we finally found the right locations to accommodate our increasing growth,” says the school’s co-founder and executive director, Yocheved Sidof.
After a busy summer of planning and renovations, Lamplighters has moved and begun the new school year in two new, freshly renovated locations.
Their main building, housing their administrative offices, teacher classroom, preschool and elementary boys classes, is now located in a charming property at 1337 President Street and Brooklyn Avenue.
The second, for their elementary girls classes, is located just a few blocks away.
With the added space, this unique Chabad yeshivah which employs Montessori methodology to customize education for each child, now has room to accommodate 115 students from preschool through fifth grade.
“While these locations are rented properties, we are actively working on a capital campaign to purchase our very own Lighthouse in the community,” says Sidoff. “Our goal is to further expand our school and training program, accommodating even more students and their families and educators from across the world, eager to receive training or see our unique method in action,” she says.
