On Sunday, 29 Sivan, talmidim of Cheder Menachem Los Angeles and their mechanchim, families, and friends gathered together to award the Talmidim for their achievements in Mishnayos Baal Peh. The Mishnayos Baal Peh program ran from Yud Shvat and continued until Yud Alef Nissan, as a present to the Rebbe.
Rabbi Dovid HaCohen Blasberg, Principal of the Elementary School, opened up the event by welcoming the talmidim and guests, speaking about the great effects of learning Tanya and Mishnayos Baal Peh and extending a hearty yasher koach to all those who were involved in the program.
Rabbi Sholom Heidingsfeld, Coordinator of the Mishnayos Baal peh Program then gave over highlights of the achievements of Kitah Alef and Bais after which Talmidim in those grades received their Seforim. Special mention was made for the three highest achievers in the younger grades, Menachem HaCohen Blasberg, Yosef Yitzchak Halevi Levitansky and Yitzchok Isaac Heidingsfeld.
Rabbi Mendel Greenbaum, Menahel of the Cheder, then spoke and introduced Kitah Zayin talmid Menny Hecht who was mesayem the entire Shisha Sidrei Mishnah on behalf of the Talmidim and faculty of the Cheder, which was learned Liluy Nishmas Mrs Ruchie Stillman obm, affectionately known as the “Bubby of the Cheder” and coordinated the Mishnayos Baal Peh award ceremony with all her heart and soul for many years.
Rabbi Heidingsfwld then made a special presentation to 3 talmidim who learned the first 12 perakim of Tanya Baal peh, Arye Leib Kramer, Mendel Zaetz and Levi Yitzchok Hecht.
Rabbi Shmuel Schapiro, Principal of the Cheder’s middle school then presented awards to the top 3 achievers in the older grades, Avremel Heidingsfeld, Mendel Raigorodsky and Mendel Zaetz.
Afterwards each talmid came up to the stage to receive their prizes for their efforts.
Special Hakoras Hatov was expressed to Reb Yankel Ginsburg and his family, who sponsor the Mishnayos Baal Peh program, l’iluy nishmas his father Reb Dov Reuven ben Reb Dovid HaLevi a”h. In addition, this year the Mishnayos was dedicated to the memory of Blume Gute bas Reb Shlomo, mother of Mrs. Esther Ginsburg. Additional support for the program was given by the Raichik, Gordon and Schapiro (R’ Nuchi) families.
Participants left feeling that this Hakhel event and MBP program most certainly is a source of much nachas to the Rebbe.
