On Sunday the 9th of Adar Cheder Menachem of Los Angeles hosted its ninth annual trustee dinner.
Over 150 attendees listened as Rabbi Yossi Jacobson kept the crowd spellbound with his talk and stories on Chinuch. Entertainer Shimi Illuzini captivated the crowd with his masterful illusions. Attendees dined on a variety of Sushi, Carving Stations, Viennese Table and a unique and tantalizing Spring Roll Bar which included a choice of 8 different flavors made fresh by MGM caterers.
Rabbi Jacobson remarked in his address that on his visit to the Cheder he has never seen such a happy group of children, as well as Rebbes, who were excited to be in school.
In recognition of all the work they do to keep the Cheder running, and especially for spearheading the effort to win $500,000 in the Kohl’s Cares competition, Rabbi Yossi and Gila Lipsker were presented with a gift of pictures and videos of both of them receiving dollars from the Rebbe in 1991.
Cheder Menachem of Los Angeles is a premier educational institution and an example for Chabad Moisdos around the world. With close to 300 students, the Cheder is led by the very innovative and popular board of parents including Nota Berger, Shmuel Fogelman, Yerachmiel Forer, Mendel Goldman, Yossi Lipsker, Yossi Mayberg and Melech Weiss work tirelessly to ensure that all paychecks deadlines are met on time, as they have been successfully in the 9 years since the board took charge. Perhaps now we understand why the Rebbes are happy to be in school.
Yeah Yerachmiel, We know you work tirelessly for the Cheder. Great Job, wish we were there Love Ma and Ta
Mushi Fogelman …you’re the man! You care so much
about the Cheder and the Shul in L.A.
California does have nicer weather, but that isn’t the reason for the atmosphere in the cheder. The kids are truly happy. (Many of them even wish for snow LOL)
GO UNCLE MENDY!!!!!!
GO RABBI FOGI!!!!!!
Thank You Cheder Menachem!
very proud to be a part of this Los Angeles Cheder. the best run school in all of Lubavitch. Other schools should take note!!

EYE OF THE TIGER. You and the rest of the board deserve so much credit.
Anash from around the world should take note and instead of sitting back and complaining how much more the school should do they should roll their own sleeves up and take the bull by the horns and help whichever way they can!!!
What an amazing concept have a board made up of parents. Theschool represents the majority versus most that only represent the minority.
Keep up all the great work and other citys should follow this great example of Achdus.
yossi and gila we’re so proud – well deserved
Hashem should give you koach and success to continue with the good work
Yossi Mayberg always so modest with all the tzaddakah and chessed he give to others in such a soft manner. Happy to see you up there in public, you truly deserve the honor from Hashem and his children. May you be bentched to always give and always do in such a kind befitting manner.
Of course he notices the children seemed happier, They LIve in LA all year with the great weather!!! NO Snow!!!

As a past parent of Cheder talmidim (they graduated) I am delightfully awawre of the readily apparent goodwill and cooperation and mutual respect between the board, teachers and parents. And let’s not forget the principal Rabbi Grossbaum and everyone else. I am grateful to all of them. May they keep up their good work and lead by example. Hey Mendel, did you save me some eggrolls?
