Beluga is the best Mashke out there (as I’ve been by a Ukrainian friend).

I’m sure Rabbi Lazar from Russia would disagree.

Oh please
March 3, 2022 6:38 pm

Does this mean that the liquor you sell is only from countries you agree with their policies?

Do you agree with that China is doing to the Uyghurs?
Do you agree with how Turkey was slandering Israel?
Do you agree with how France is dealing with antisemitism?

Should I go on?

Your logic is flawed.

The whole world is boycotting Russia because it is the right thing to do. For Jewish and kosher to do as well is also the right thing.

Why we don’t take other actions is a separate question. A) Maybe we should and B) maybe it’s not as a severe action/reaction etc…

Bottom line, sanctions and boycotts of this magnitude seems to be working and we should do our part as well.

You called it flawed logic

But you didn’t explain. You went on to say what the world is doing. That does not make his logic flawed. That makes his opinion not in line with others.

It’s an opinion, not logic.

Are you sure you want to live in a world that uses businesses against politics? You just might end up debanked if you support Israel because you know the media decided they are guilty of apartheid.
Take everything you hear with a grain of salt.

Go ahead take it off the shelves, what if the money is going to bullets? Hashem is in charge of parnasa and you will only see brachos from taking it off your shelves.

Germany specifically annihilated Yidden. Russia specifically supports yiddishkeit and it’s values.
Maybe Russia is really fighting against the globalist interests that are guilty of crimes against humanity that the media is in bed with? How would you know truth from deception?
See the difference?

March 3, 2022 6:57 pm

it will not hurt the government it will hurt regular people so you should keep it on your shelf

Doesn't seem most Russians agree with putin
March 3, 2022 6:59 pm

I believe most Russians are just as helpless about this war as are the Ukrainians. More likely this kind of move would just put be putting a regular businessman out of business.

Depends
March 3, 2022 6:59 pm

Is there a company that close to Putin personally ,I would agree with taking off that company off the self

Absolutely!!! Yes!!!!
March 3, 2022 7:02 pm

This is not politics!!! This is mass murder and destruction which includes too many Jews!!!

I’ve never heard of this liquor store maybe I should go check them out. mission accomplished?

The Torah says a king is entitled to wage war
March 3, 2022 7:29 pm

It is not murder, it is a normal thing for a country to do, to further its interests. The idea that war is wrong is against halacha

King?
Reply to  The Torah says a king is entitled to wage war
March 3, 2022 7:49 pm

He is not a king. Having slaves is also ok by your distorted logic?
Why are you defending Evil? Why are you defending pain and suffering.

Actually, yes
Reply to  King?
March 3, 2022 9:30 pm

The Torah kind of slavery is a positive good. As with many other things, it’s been perverted by the non-Jews into something cruel and inhuman.

And the halachos of kings apply to any other title by which a ruler might go, provided that he’s accepted by them – “his coinage circulates,” as the Rambam and the Shulchan Aruch put it.

Now, if you’re uncomfortable with all of that, then there are any number of other religions out there that may be more to your taste. But Torah doesn’t change.

Actually , no
Reply to  Actually, yes
March 13, 2022 12:42 am

If your inviting a fellow jew to perhaps join “other religions out there” just because he disagrees halachikaly that rules/dinim of kings and slavery do not apply in today’s world setting. (Similarly to literally hundreds of other halochos that are not aplicaple b”zman hazeh) then you might want to rethink your entire twisted hashkafah and probably start learning a little Chassidus.

Funny (not so much)

If you want to know what the Torah actually says about this and not just your narishe opinion, Rabbi Zevin has an article about this in לאור ההלכה. You are flat out wrong.

The first thing the Nazi’s did was ban Jewish stores and products.
Removing Russian made products in protest of the terrible bloodshed does have an impact.

Now continue your train of thought…
Removing Russian products will have an impact on what?
Like turning Putin against the Jews in Russia?
This is not a game.
Use some seichel.
We have bh led mostly peaceful, safe and sheltered lives here in the states. But if you read anything about history it’s a real bad idea for Yidden to publicly pick sides in war with any entity that is not specifically targeting them. It will have unintended consequences. We are still in golus.

So instead do nothing?
Reply to  Anonymous
March 4, 2022 9:10 am

If you don’t choose a side and instead passively remain a bystander, you are just as guilty as those committing the crimes.

Jews have an obligation to publicly pick sides, we are obligated according to halacha to stand up for justice and truth.

I don’t know what Torah or history books you’re reading, but they’re not mine.

Hello. Hopefully idden are safe and sound I hope I hope but the Ukrainians need to be wiped out. They were the ones who treated the rabbeim horribly saying it mildly. It’s about time Ukrainians get paid back!!! Hashem using Putin yes a ruthless dictator but he’s doing something we all waiting for. Hashem yerachem on the innocent!!!

The Ukraine of today is not the Ukraine of 70 years ago. There are hundreds of thousands of Yidden that live there peacefully. In addition, the top government positions are held by Yidden. That being said, if C”V Putin takes over, being that the opposition was led by Yidden, they will be the first to suffer! As usual we will be the scapegoats C”V!

So the Ukrainians need to be wiped out and not the Russians? They were also pretty horrible to yidden years ago.
Maybe we should just pray for peace and no innocent deaths

We should support this war. The Ukrainians did terrible things and Putin said he is doing this to destroy the Nazis in Ukraine.

The Stoli Group manufactures Stolichnaya vodka. Although the liquor is marketed as Russian vodka, Stoli is actually manufactured in Latvia and has operations in Ukraine.

Pathetic.

Russia is not against Yidden so stay out of the fight.

And Putin won’t learn his lesson from all these sanctions.
Your actions will just be hurting Russian Jews which is what matters

Just putting this out there
March 4, 2022 12:53 pm

A lot of so called Russian Vodka is actually manufactured in the US and other places. Not just Russia.

And sanctions are put by governments, not citizens.

This causes hatred among the citizens, hurts them.

Leave the war and fighting to the governments.
We should preach peace and love. Not boycotts.

And most Russians don’t support the war, so really it’s causing more harm than good.

Last point.
Cancel culture had never led to any good.

Promote Ukrainian Vodka.

Invest in Russian Vodka

There will probably be a shortage of Russian Vodka due to the situation. Now is probably a good time to invest in Russian vodka before the prices skyrocket.

I’m stunned that so many here believe we should support Putin because a portion of an entirely different generation of Ukrainians were evil we should support Putin’s murder of numerous innocent people and the destruction of a country that is a freedom and peace loving Democracy. If you really think Putin loves or respects Jews (which is irrelevant when it comes to the murder he is committing now) can’t you see that Putin has just been using Russian Jews for some respectability and praise. That may have been needed to protect Russian Jews but supporting Putin is going to have… Read more »
