Kolel L’Horaah Ma’asis Marks Four Years of Excellence

The Kolel L’Horaah Ma’asis of Crown Heights has concluded its fourth successful year this week.

With over 80 Yungeleit learning in Kolel throughout the four years, the Kolel has already earned a reputation in the Chabad world and the outside world as a premier Torah learning institution.

With the stated goal of educating and training potential Rabonim, Moreh Horaah and Dayonim, the Kolel has been successful beyond expectations, with graduates serving in positions of Rabonus, Dayonus and on Shlichus around the world.

Kolel Yungeleit received Shimush in Paskening Halachos in the Beis Horaah of Hisachdus (CRC) in Williamsburg, Debrecin in Boro Park, Karlsburg in Boro Park, Beis Din of New Square and Beis Horaah of Crown Heights.

Kolel Yungeleit received Shimush in Dinei Torah in the Beis Din Agudas Harabonim in Flatbush, Vaad Harabonim of Queens, Beis Din Kolel Horabonim of Monsey, Beis Din Mechon L’Hoyroa of Monsey, Beis Din of East Flatbush, Torah Vodaas Beis Din in Flatbush, and some Yungeleit have served as Dayonim in Boro Park, Crown Heights and Flatbush.

The topics learned in Kolel during the past four years included: Hilchos Mikvaos and Ribbis the first year; Niddah and Kashrus the second year; Eruvin, Yuchsin, Kidushin and Kesubah the third year; Choshen Mishpat and Gittin the fourth year.

The Kolel pioneered the idea of having high-level Shiurim in Halacha and Chassidus broadcast live, and available for free online, with over 250 Shiurim available on the YouTube Kolel Channel just on Halacha!

The Kolel is directed by the Menahel Rabbi Shloimy Greenwald and has on staff the Dayan Rabbi Sholom Shuchat as Rosh Kolel, Rabbi Simon Jacobson as Mashpia, Rabbi Shraga Homnick as Sgan Rosh Kolel and Rabbi Eli Labkowsky as Meishiv for Chassidus.

Among the graduates in Kolel one will find Rabbi Chaim Hertz who is the Rov for all Mikvaos of Beis Lubavitch in the Greater Paris Region; Rabbi Mendel Shemtov who is a Shliach and Dayan in Michigan; Rabbis Mendel Vaisfiche, Tzemach Zirkind and Berel Lew who serve as Morei Horaah and answer Shaalos for the Beis Horaah of Crown Heights alongside Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov, under the auspices of the Crown Heights Beis Din; Rabbi Sholom Vigler who is a Shliach and Rov in Texas; Rabbi Mendel Winner, who is a Shliach and Rov in Brighton Beach; Rabbi Chaim Shaul Shkedi who is a Shliach and Rov in Montana; Rabbi Yashpi Nisselevich who is a Shliach and Rov in Aubervilliers, France; Rabbi Pinchos Spiero who is taking a position of Shlichus and Rabonus in Amsterdam; and others.

On Rosh Chodesh Elul the Kolel will begin its 5th year, with a group of new and continuing students, and a new curriculum.
