450 mechanchos from across North America gathered for the Gala Chinuch Banquet at the 7th Annual Kinus Mechanchos Chabad at the Armon Hotel in Stamford, CT for a night celebrating Chabad Chinuch.
The event kicked off with a live concert by singer Moussia Mendelsohn, dancing, an interview with veteran educator Morah Chani Brod of Bais Rivkah Elementary School in Crown Heights, and a moving video presentation.
Harav Yosef Shusterman, keynote speaker, shared words of wisdom on “What Chinuch Needs Most Today, in which he eloquently laid out the foundational approach of acceptance, love and security that educators must provide to their students, sourced in Torah and Chassidus.
Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Founder and Executive Director of the Menachem Education Foundation (MEF), which organized the conference, shared heartfelt greetings and an empowering message on reaching every student, no matter their circumstances.
To continue the connections and inspiration gained at the kinus throughout the year, Mrs. Geulah Newman shared uplifting words touching on the theme of the event of providing tools to give a timeless Torah Chinuch to today’s students, and launched a chavrusa program for teachers to learn the Frierdiker Rebbe’s Klalei HaChinuch V’Hadracha together.
In honor of the international group of Kinus attendees this year, the banquet concluded with the first ever Kinus Mechanchos Banquet Roll Call, led by Mrs. Kesem Mia Hetsrony, teacher and Tzivos Hashem leader of Cheder Chabad of Philadelphia.
The banquet was produced by Dovid Weinbaum and coordinated by Aylson Feldman of FFH events with audio/visual by Yoily Stern, and gourmet food by Turk catering, the seamless event left Mechanchos feeling treated and appreciated for the hard work they do.
The banquet led into farbrengens in honor of Yud Bais and Yud Gimmel Tammuz, with words of inspiration by Mrs. Shterna Ginsberg, educator, mashpia and author of Your Awesome Self, Mrs. Shana Teichtel, principal of Bais Rivkah High School with her sister Mrs. Chanie Geisinsky, Associate Head of School at Silverstein Hebrew Academy in Great Neck, NY. Mechanchos stayed to sing and farbreng late into the night.
Participants shared how much they enjoyed the quality, ambience and inspiration at the event. As one Mechanches said: “I loved the incredible environment. The empowerment and recognition gave me so much excitement for another year of teaching.”
